Unique Polymer Clay Pendants

Cotton candy polymer clay pendant

Plant and Hummingbird Pendant - $15

Tiny hummingbird feeding on flower, this sweet polymer clay pendant measuring 1 1/4" by 1 1/4" is made from a hand carved mold from original artwork. After curing, pendant was hand painted using acrylic paints and sealed with clear acrylic. Strung on 16" brown leather cord with lobster clasp. Matching earrings available.

Hot styles for the imaginative ensemble. Colorful, exotic, and stylish polymer clay  necklaces and pendants are fun and appropriate for all occasions. Combining the artistry of sculpting and painting, these clay jewelry pieces are so intricate and detailed with beautiful colors and designs that many creations look like they should be in a museum. This is why making clay jewelry is not merely costume jewelry, it is making art that is worn on the body instead of hanging on a wall.

What makes polymer clay special is its versatility. It comes in dozens of colors, and you can blend clays together like paints to make your own colors. Since the color is inherent in the particles, you can also work two or more colors together without blending them, if you prefer, for special effects such as caneworking and marbling. The clay’s pliability and ductility let you use techniques from glasswork, textile arts, and sculpture. And polymer clay doesn’t dry out, so you can sculpt and form it without worrying about a time limit.

Firing - the process that fuses the particles into a solid - requires only low temperatures, low enough to use a home oven as your kiln. The colors and size are not changed during firing. When fired, the clay gets hard enough to make durable objects, and can be finished in various ways to obtain textures from glassy to stonelike.

Pendants at MY NAME IS MUDD - $15-20

Cuff and Stretch Bracelets

February 7th, 2009

Dogwood Blossom Polymer Clay Bracelet

Dogwood Blossom Stretch Bracelet

 $25

Polymer clay bracelet made using dogwood blossom design from hand-carved mold of original artwork. Six tiles were then hand-painted and placed on high quality stretch cord that fits most wrists. The dogwood blossom represents to the polymer clay artist the cross and what was sacrificed. Matching pendant and earrings available.

Cuff and stretch polymer clay  bracelets are beautiful, light weight, stylish, and ready to wear for every occasion. Some of the designs you see are so detailed and intricate that they look like they were done by a machine rather than human hands. A sculptable material is used to make these clay bracelets, then baked in an oven for about 15 to 20 minutes. The clay’s pliability and ductility lets an artist use techniques from glasswork, textile arts, and sculpture. And polymer clay doesn’t dry out, so it can be sculpted and formed  without worrying about a time limit.

Polymer clay artist becmudd combines the two things she loves most - painting and working in earth based clays.  Her  two favorite mediums have been
joined into one dazzling finished product! She uses no paint in the making of this jewelry, but the combination of this pliable clay and the wonderful colors it comes in is like sculpting in paint. The patterns come from blending the colorful clays, and slicing and adding strips of a contrasting color. She gives her clay jewelry
the amazing appearance of granite, jade, amber, coral, turquoise, and ivory.
